What the free core does and leaves to add-ons

The free core includes front-end forms for employers to submit and manage listings, Google job markup so listings can appear in job searches, and RSS links that let job seekers follow a search. Email job alerts are a paid extension, meaning a paid plugin, also called an add-on, that adds one function to the free core.

Two other plugins on WordPress.org describe job functions. JobBoardWP, with 900+ active installations, adds a jobs page, a post job page and a jobs dashboard, plus structured data for Google job results; its listing names no payment function. Simple Job Board, with 10,000+ active installations, presents itself as a careers-page plugin for showing openings and receiving applications. Neither is priced here.

Paid listings: WooCommerce and WC Paid Listings

WC Paid Listings sells listing packages through WooCommerce. Its documentation starts with creating products in WooCommerce that job submitters can buy, using the Job Package type: a package that lets a user post a set number of jobs before it expires. Each package sets a listing duration in days. WooCommerce checkout forces registration, so employers cannot buy as guests.

Subscription packages need a further WooCommerce extension, WooCommerce Subscriptions. A Personal license covers one site with two activations, and a Developer license allows unlimited activations.

The bundle, renewals and refunds

The Job Manager Pro Bundle is $159 a year on a Personal license or $329 a year on a Developer license. It holds the core add-ons, among them Resume Manager, Job Alerts, WC Paid Listings and Applications; third-party extensions are not included. Support and updates run for a year from the date of purchase. The bundle page mentions a discounted renewal and prints no renewal price.

Add-ons come with a 14-day refund guarantee, and after 14 days no refunds are given. Hosting, WooCommerce and payment fees sit outside every price in the table.

When a hosted board beside WordPress fits better

Pick WP Job Manager when the site already runs on WordPress, hosting is paid for and a free core plugin covers the first listings. Pick Job Boardly when the founder would rather not host WordPress: it runs the board on a subdomain such as jobs.yoursite.com beside a WordPress site, with HTTPS included. Niceboard also suggests a subdomain linked from the main site.

Job Boardly Standard is $60 a month billed monthly or $40 a month billed annually ($480 a year), with the Job Backfiller to add listings and Stripe checkout for paid posts. Its trial takes a card and charges nothing before day 14 ends. Job Boardly vs WP Job Manager compares the two routes, and WP Job Manager alternatives lists the other ways out.
