Job Boardly's Backfiller and Aggregator, and the credits past the allowance

Backfilling means filling a board with outside listings before employers post. Job Boardly's Backfiller connects to a database that Job Boardly says holds roughly 12 million active listings, filtered by title, keyword, industry and location. Its Aggregator imports from sources you choose, each pointing at one company's careers page, with feeds from applicant tracking systems such as Greenhouse, SmartRecruiters, Workday, Workable, JazzHR, TeamTailor, BambooHR, Lever and Trakstar.

Both tools share one monthly allowance of job imports: 1,000 on Standard, 2,000 on Pro and 5,000 on Ultra. Past it, each extra job import costs one credit, sold in blocks of 1,000 for $12, 5,000 for $55 or 10,000 for $100; credits last 12 months and are non-refundable. The Direct Importer, which imports one job from its URL, also costs a credit.

CSV imports on every plan and XML imports on Pro and Ultra do not use the allowance.

During the 14-day trial, imports stop at 250 jobs. See the Job Boardly review.

Who holds the rights to imported listings

Job Boardly's terms limit backfilled listings to your Job Boardly-hosted board only and bar resale or redistribution. When the subscription ends, you must stop publishing them. Listings from either tool come without a warranty of accuracy or currency. With the Aggregator, the right to import and publish each source you configure is yours to hold.

Imported listings and Google's job rules

Job Boardly's Backfiller page says filled or withdrawn roles stay published until their expiry date, while Google's job posting guidelines say jobs no longer open for applications must be expired and warn of a manual action for late action, so set the expiry yourself and check what stays live.

Google also says to use canonical URLs when several copies of one posting sit under different URLs, as can happen with imported and backfilled copies. How to start a job board website covers Google's other job posting rules.

Niceboard, JBoard and JobBoard.io imports

Niceboard counts import runs, each a scheduled run of its web scraper or XML import: Core allows 10 of each a month, Advanced 30 and 60, and the sales-led Custom tier 60 and 120. Niceboard also offers backfill from partner feeds.

JBoard counts the jobs its AI imports each month and the scraper sources feeding the board: Basic has 100 and 3, Standard 300 and 10, Advanced 1,000 and 30, Scale 2,500 and 80. JBoard says its AI finds listings on 200K+ career sites. Job Boardly vs JBoard sets Job Boardly beside it.

JobBoard.io's Basic plan lists backfill, and Professional adds 5 auto-import job feeds.

  • Job Boardly for the Backfiller and Aggregator on every plan, plus free CSV import.
  • JBoard for AI backfill from what it calls 200K+ career sites.
  • Niceboard for scheduled scraper and XML import runs with partner backfill.
